Women of the Channel: Insights on partner success
Think customer. Succeed together. These are two of Barracuda’s core values, and Karlene Alameda from our channel marketing team brings both values to life every day in her work with our channel partners. Karlene was recently recognized for her vision and channel expertise by being included in CRN’s annual Women of the Channel Awards for the second year in a row.
We sat down with Karlene to learn more about what succeeding together means to her and what will be the key to success for channel partners in the year ahead.
Q&A with Karlene Alameda, Field & Channel Marketing Manager
In your role working with Barracuda channel partners, what does succeed together mean to you?
I’ve been with Barracuda for five years now, and I’ve learned so much from working with our partners and the rest of the channel team and seeing how teamwork leads to success. Over the past year, our team worked hard on enhancing our channel and partner programs. I'm proud of the contributions I made to the process, working with different teams and key stakeholders and introducing the changes to our channel partners so they understand what's new. We want to improve the partner experience, and I helped grow our channel marketing team to support this transformation. My focus has been on creating joint partner marketing plans and providing the necessary elements to increase demand. This ultimately helps drive success, both for our partners and the Barracuda team.
What are your goals for the coming year?
My team's goal in the next year is to transform our partner experiences by ensuring we are providing a consistently great program to enable our partner ecosystem and enhance our partner journeys. We’re working closely with our partner community to make sure we have action plans that drive a positive outcome and simplify how we work together.
What do you think will be the key to success for channel partners in 2020?
The key to success for our channel partners in 2020 is to continue to engage with Barracuda on all levels. We want to help them succeed, and our partnership will help accelerate their growth. Barracuda is a 100-percent channel company, so we want to make sure all our partner tiers get the attention they need to grow their business.
